Special Agent Andrew Black will describe the types  of crimes, how the FBI investigates these crimes, and his experiences in the FBI's computer crimes division. An evening discussion at Emerge Friday, July 21, 7-9p.m. San Francisco Art Institute Annex Space 701 Chestnut Street @ Columbus NextMonet and GenArt SF invite you to discover the Bay Area's hottest  emerging artists. Join us for an exploration of the contemporary art scene  in San Francisco by Emerge jurist, Meredith Tromble and an informative analysis of the Emerge exhibition by art educator, Scott Bell. The discussion will be followed by a tour of the Emerge exhibit by Joanne Chan, the Director of GenArt SF, and a reception featuring a hosted bar and hors d'oeuvres. The event targets young collectors and potential collectors in  the Bay Area. 22 PC of Northern California Hike through redwood forest in Santa Cruz Mountains. Join Dan Sullivan '63 and Dewey Wilmont '93 on a moderate 5-6 mile hike through redwood forest and chaparral in the northern part of the Santa Cruz
Mountains. Portola Redwoods State Park is in a deep redwood canyon west of Skyline Ridge, a world apart from Silicon Valley just a few miles away. A man named Page Mill operated a shingle mill here in the 1870s, hauling redwood shingles out by wagon on the road that bears his name. We will meet in the Hopkins Grove at the south end of the Visitor Center.
Bring lunch and liquids.  Driving directions: From I-280, exit on Page Mill Road and go west for about 8.5 miles (and 50 curves) to Skyline Boulevard. Go across Skyline (Page Mill now becomes Alpine Road) and continue downhill about 3 miles (and 30 more curves), then turn left onto Portola State Park Road. The Visitor Center is a little over 3 miles (and another 35 curves) further down this road. Park in the Madrone Parking area on your left just before you reach the Visitor Center. 22 PC of Northern California Late Harvest will have its world premiere as part of the 14th Annual Wine Country Film Festival on Saturday, July 22.  Shot entirely on location at a vineyard in the Napa Valley, the film is a 22 minute digital
short produced and directed by Jenna McFeely '94.  The story revolves around a mother and her two grown children who come together to dispose of their father¹s ashes. Support a fellow Princetonian and enjoy the rest of the evening's fabulous entertainment, including a barrel tasting of '99 Sequoia Grove Cabernet Sauvignon,  a tribute to Richard Harris (who will be in attendance) and a screening of his latest film, To Walk With Lions.  Come enjoy great food, wine and film al fresco at Sequoia Grove Vineyards in Rutherford, CA.  Gates open at 6:30 pm. 26 PC of Northern California Building a Start-Up. Richard F Sommer '83 and Amanda North '78 will speak about
building rapidly growing start-up companies. Richard is President and CEO and Amanda is Senior Vice President of MedChannel, a business-to-business information infrastructure company focused on reengineering medical supply chains using internet-based technology. In March, MedChannel closed a $42 Million round of financing with a number of top-tier investors including Goldman Sachs, Frazier & Co., Bessemer Ventures, Trinity Ventures, and Three Arch partners.

29 PC of Northern California PWN Family Hike on the Sawyer Camp Trail.  Sawyer Camp Trail is a historic, paved, car-free road that extends six miles through San Francisco Watershed land along lovely San Andreas and Crystal Springs lakes. This is a perfect outing for kids of all ages: safe and fun for babies in strollers, small kids in bike trailers, or bigger
kids on their own wheels. We will meet at the north entrance on Hillcrest Blvd., then proceed southward however we like: walking, roller-blading, biking. Equestrians welcome too!
