Princeton Regional Associations

Latest schedule of Regional events.

Today, more than 160 regional associations represent Princeton in communities around the world. From the New York City metropolitan area, where about 10,000 alumni live, to Idaho/Montana, where there are just over 100 Princetonians, each association seeks the most effective way to link undergraduate and graduate alumni and their spouses, parents of students, prospective applicants and all interested members of the community, to the University.

The mission of all alumni organizations is to promote the interests and welfare of Princeton and its connection with the alumni, and to encourage association with Princeton through intellectual, volunteer and social activities. Regional associations are unique, however, in their ability to concentrate their activities in a given locale.

The University recognizes these special attributes by asking regional associations to help in very specific ways. Interviewing new students, providing career counseling for Princetonians and welcoming young alumni and parents into the Princeton family are all functions that rely on a broad range of experience being concentrated in a geographic area.

An effective regional association brings a strong Princeton presence to the community and, through its activity, comes to represent the University to a very broad audience.

Some of the projects Regional Associations undertake:

  • interviewing prospective students
  • conducting Annual Giving solicitations
  • hosting University Speakers
  • providing summer job and career counseling for local undergraduates and alumni
  • volunteering time for public service projects
  • sponsoring educational programs
  • sponsoring social events

The ingenuity and spirit behind these projects is the key to their success. Alumni Schools work, for example, frequently includes an award program for outstanding high school students, an on-campus hosting program for prospective applicants and fund-raising for an association scholarship. Annual Giving work may involve large-scale telethons, with the youngest local alumni calling older alumni to share their fresh excitement about Princeton.

To find out how you can become involved in your local Regional Association, contact Paula Bryan at the Alumni Council at (609) 258-3351 or paula@princeton.edu.

To find out how you can become involved in your local Princeton Women's Network, contact Adrienne Rubin '88 at the Alumni Council at (609) 258-5844 or adp@princeton.edu. Princeton Women's Networks exist in certain U.S. cities as local communities through which Princeton alumnae serve as resources for each other, for Princeton and for the community at large.
