This website is about a graduate study focused on the spatial ecology of yellow baboons. My primary goal is to explore patterns of resource and space use by using both remote GIS technologies and direct observations of baboons in the wild. In so doing, I will work with biologists from the Amboseli Baboon Research Project to build upon more than 30 years of continuous behavioral and ecololgical monitoring to broaden our understanding of primate socioecology.

Baboons are large semi-terrestrial monkeys that occupy a
wide range of habitats across the African continent. Click here
to learn about their basic ecology as well as the particular
study area I work in, the Amboseli basin of east Africa. MORE INFORMATION >>

Several studies are currently underway to investigate patterns of space use in this baboon population. Click here to learn more about recent and on-going projects. MORE INFORMATION >>
This page is currently under construction but will contain special features such as animations of baboon movement path and, video clips from the field. More features will be added soon! MORE INFORMATION >>
The Amboseli Baboon Research Project has produced nearly
200 publications on various aspects of baboon ecology and
behavior. Listed on this page are select citations specifically
regarding baboon ranging patterns and ecology. MORE INFORMATION >>
