04/29/02: Asian Pacific American Heritage Month closing ceremonies. Come hear Eric Liu speak. Eric Liu was hailed "1 of the 25 most influential Asian Americans in the country" with good reason.  He served as Clinton's speechwriter and domestic policy adviser as well as director of the National Security Council.  As author of the controversial New York Times Notable Book of 1998 The Accidental Asian, Liu will be speaking on his stumble into identity at the APAHM closing banquet. Third World Center, 6pm.

check out abercrombie’s new line.

How can a company that does $1.4 billion in sales a year and is worth more than double that hawk such ridiculous items? People will buy these shirts, and further perpetuate stereotypes of Asian Americans. ACTION MUST BE TAKEN NOW. Obviously, we cannot allow ourselves to again be silenced and "model-minority-ized". Hopefully, A&F will be taken as an example for other retailers in the future.
