The Mappamundi Project

Mappamundi provides an integrated, interactive, multimedia environment to enhance the study of the Middle Ages. This collaborative project is sponsored by the Program in Medieval Studies, a field which places strong emphasis on the study of artifacts and material culture; the considerable degree to which the ritual and ceremonies of the Middle Ages involved a combination of setting, structure, text, music, costume, fine and decorative arts make it an excellent academic field in which to explore modern multimedia paradigms.
