Sampling procedure: 1974 Survey of architects employed by approximately two thirds of a random sample of 152 architecture firms listed in the Manhattan telephone directory whose principals gave permission. Reinterviews with architects employed by surviving firms in 1979.

N and Response rate: Response rate: 50 percent (400 of 800 from 152 Manhattan firms)
