Study of Boundaries among Popular Quebec Musicians (1992)

Investigator: Michele Ollivier

Population: Musicians, Record Producers, and Art Critics

Identification method: Musicians (102) with at least one album recorded between 1985 and 1991. Record producers were presidents or directors of major companies (26) involved in the production and distribution of popular music created by the 102 artists sampled. Media art critics (6) from three major newspapers and one weekly magazine.

Sampling Procedure: Letters were sent and phone calls were made to all 102 artists in the sample.

N and Response rate: 20 percent (21 of 102) artists
