Center for Arts and Cultural Policy Studies
Andras Szanto's research interests fall in three areas. First, an ongoing investigation into the role of the news media in arts and culture, including a comparative examination of the demographic backgrounds, work situations, taste and influence patterns, ethics and opinions of critics working in various aesthetic disciplines. Second, an examination of the social structure of the visual arts world, in particular the changing institutional processes of value creation and the organizational and political challenges facing art museums today. Third, an evaluation of the future of cultural diplomacy, arts exchange, and international cultural flows, with an emphasis on the role of private philanthropy in this field. He will continue to advise the CPANDA cultural policy data archive on strategy and new business development.
