We are planning to hold many events of interest to the south asian community and to people interested in South Asia in general during this semester. The events include celebration of various common festivals, perfomances by South Asian Artists, Discussions on topics relevent to the region, movie/documentary screening, food events etc. Your input is always most welcome. Diwali/Tihar/Shab-E-Barat : November 12We are planning to hold a combined celebration of Diwali, Tihar and Shab-E-Barat the festival of lights celebrated in India, Nepal and Pakistan respectively. This was the chance to know the new members of the steadily increasing South Asian community in and around Princeton over dinner. Photos coming up soon.P-AID Movies: Every ThursdayP-AID screened various movies every Thursday at 8.30 PM in E-Quad (Room # B205) to raise money for flood victims in Bhopal. Pop Corn and soft drinks were served.Open House and Movie Screening: Feb 27We kicked off our events calendar with a grand dinner (South Indian food) followed by the movie "Pushpak". For more information, see the flyer. We have some photos from the evening. Bhopal Express: Feb 28This is a movie about about a newly wed couple in the backdrop of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. This event is organized by the newly formed Princeton Chapter of Association for India's Development(AID). More information and driving directions to the theatre are available here.

The TFSA is a series of 15 excellent films on South Asia. The films were selected from over 40 films screened during the Film South Asia Festival that took place in Kathmandu in September 2003. More information and the schedule of films TFSA is being organized jointly by Drishti, ASAP, SASA and AID Princeton.
ASAP is
celebrating the SOUTH ASIAN NEW YEAR AND HARVEST FESTIVAL on Fri, 16th
April. This will be a combined celebration of traditional South Asian
festivals like Baisakhi, Gudi Padva, Poila Boishakh, Vishu, Puthandu,
Aluth Ayurudhu and others celebrated in the month of April. We invite
you
to join us for South Asian food (dinner) along with traditional music
and
dance, painting rangolis, an antakshari competition with attractive
prizes
and more all for only $4 a person. The details of the event are given
