Instructions for using the "Dynastic Concept Maps"
This interface is divided into Three Windows. You are reading from the Main Window.
The Window to the left will allow you to change the views in the Main Window. e.g. Click on "Maps" and then on "600" to see a two dimensional dynastic map showing who ruled where and when. Clicking on "Events" will replace the map with a chronological listing of important occurences for that period. (At present the years from 602 to 872 are covered.) The default for the "slider" below is "maps". Some of the names of dynasties - "Umayyads" and "Abbasids" have links to genealogical charts and capsule histories of the dynasties. Eventually, all will.
Click on "All" to bring up a dynastic map that scrolls. The dynastic names on this scrolling map do not have links.
The Window below is a sliding Time Scale. Click on a date and you will see data appear in the Main Window replacing these instructions.
