How do I kill a running job started under PBS? Why doesn't qdel work?

Use qsig jobnum to kill a running job. qdel removes a job in the queued state only and will not remove a running job.

When trying to kill a running job, qsig leaves this job in the run state. How do I really terminate this job?

Use qsig -s 0 jobnum to remove stubborn jobs.
