Summer Opportunities in Bioethics

Below are a list of some summer opportunities in Bioethics. These are not official postings and the Bioethics Forum does not take responsibility to verify or update the information. We hope to provide students interested in bioethics a better idea of what kind of job opportunities exist in this field.

If you have any additions/updates please email the Bioethics Forum.

  • Research Assistant--The Hastings Center
The Hastings Center invites applications for the position of Research Assistant to begin in June 1998. This is a full time, paid staff position that normally carries the expectation of two years employment. It is appropriate for someone with a bachelors level degree, but not for someone with a more advanced degree. Applicants should have a broad interest in the field of bioethics, a solid liberal arts and sciences background, and basic research, and computer technology and internet skills. The Research Assistant works closely with the professional research staff and the Center's librarian in a variety of ways, including literature searches, developing annotated bibliographies, identifying and retrieving web-based documents, maintaining project notes and databases, and assisting with the maintenance of the Center's library holdings.

To apply, please send a detailed letter of application, a resume, undergraduate transcript, a writing sample such as a course paper, and the names and addresses of three references. Application deadline is May 8, 1998. Send application materials to The Hastings Center, Box P, Route 9-D, Garrison, New York 10524; or send to cmckee@thehastingscenter.org

The Hastings Center is an equal opportunity employer.
