Graduate College Breakfast Club of Princeton University

Application for Student Organisation

Purpose The Graduate College Breakfast Club of Princeton University is an innovative, meal-time forum dedicated to the pursuit of testing the limits of human wit and mental versatility, in a relaxed atmosphere. Its goals are the encouragement of free thought, free expression, and free breakfasts for graduate students at the GC, as well as habits conducive to good living, such as waking up early and choosing a healthy diet. The GCBCPU discusses science, politics, and poetry, treating each with a critical but light-hearted demeanor.

History Current members of the GCBCPU have had previous experience with other breakfast organizations, and have found it pleasant to begin the day with a meal with friends. Modeled to an extent on departmental teas, the GCBCPU generalizes the above to include all disciplines, involving a cross section of the graduate community and forging closer ties among the various students. Incoming graduate students, discovering that places such as Yale University had long histories of such organizations (http://www.yale.edu/ brkfast/brkfast.html), quickly formed a Princeton Answer.

Activities The GCBCPU meets Monday thru Friday in the Graduate Dining Hall at the GC. Members and friends stop by to eat and chat from 7:30 to 9:00. Also, the GCSBCPU holds free food bagel breakfasts when the dining halls are closed.
