Japan 16: Japanese Literature, Film, and Translation
Description and general information:
This course is designed to improve the advanced student’s command of spoken
and written Japanese through film and literature. The course will emphasize
comprehension, both aural and written, of works in Japanese; development of
vocabulary and idiomatic expression; and translation of literary texts and film
dialogue from Japanese to English. Critical language skills will be developed
through frequent writing and translation assignments as well as oral
presentations. Requisite: Japanese 8 or equivalent.
