Knowing that my work will matter to real people and
learning about my community sparked my interest in this topic.

The work completed is important not only for me, but also for another audience, making the obligation to produce a quality body of work greater. I found the tangible aspect of the academic work rewarding, and I thoroughly enjoyed gaining a better understanding of the inner-workings of a non-profit.
