Studio Location
We are located in the Edgeboro Plaza, at the intersection of Route 18 and Edgeboro Road,
one-half mile from Exit 9 of the New Jersey Turnpike.
We offer expert instruction in all forms of ballroom dance, from beginner to expert levels.
Our instructors are expert in both smooth and latin dancing. We can prepare you to dance at
an upcoming wedding or other social event, or we can prepare you to compete in serious
ballroom dance competitions.

About the Studio
Our studio is one of the largest ballroom dance studios in New Jersey, featuring a special
2200 square-foot, floating hardwood dance floor, imported from Europe. Two fully mirrored
walls further enhance your dancing, and a professional sound system with an excellent
choice of music complete the dancing experience. Many of our students began with the hope
of not being embarassed at an upcoming social function, and enjoyed dancing so much that they
now practice regularly and compete in professional dance competitions. In addition to having
access to professional instruction, all members of our studio are welcome into our studio
at any time to practice on their own or to socialize with other dancers.

Alex and Tanya Koulik
Alex and Tanya Kulik are directors of the Royal Ballroom.
Alex and Tanya began dancing together in 1977, and have won many international dance
competitions. In 1992, they were World Tournament Prize Winners in Paris, France,
among 150 couples from all over the world. They have competed and performed
all over the world, including France, Italy, Germany, Greece, Spain, Denmark, Norway,
and the United States. Alex and Tanya have over
19 years of experience in teaching ballroom dance. In addition to teaching
at the Royal Ballroom, Alex and Tanya are also the
principal dance instructors
for the Princeton University
Ballroom Dance Club .
Vitaliy Logashev
Vitaliy Logashev has recently joined the faculty of the Royal Ballroom studio,
offering expert instruction in both standard and Latin dances. Vitaliy is
an active professional competitor, who has recently placed first in the
Rising Star of the Professional Standard division.
Studio Activities
Recent activities at the studio include special dance instructions by
former U.S. Professional Standard Champion Bill Davies, and a very special
day of instruction by former World Amateur and World Profession Champion,
Steven Hillier. Check this page for future guest instructors, and other

Studio Social Dances
and Showcases
The Royal Ballroom usually holds monthly social dances at the studio.
The next social dance will be held SATURDAY APRIL 25, 1998, from 9:00 to
11:00 pm. The
social will be preceded by a free lesson at 8:30, and at 10:00 a
special Grand Showcase will be presented. Admission is $10 per person, and
all are welcome! Royal Ballroom dance instructors will be available during
the entire social to answer questions and provide help with your dancing.
Several times during the year, the Royal Ballroom presents a grand showcase
in which studio instructors and students present a wide variety of dances.

Students Win Competitions
Many of our students compete in ballroom dance competitions, both Pro-Am and
amateur couples. A number of students placed very well at the recent American
Star Ball at the Meadowlands. In addition, in August 1997, at the National
Amateur Championships, amateur couples from the Royal Ballroom placed first
in the Open International Standard, Junior Division, and second in the Silver-
level syllabus competition, International Standard division. Students
placed very well at the recent Northeastern Dancesport Championships,
including first place in Pro-Am Theatre Arts, second place in amateur
gold-level international standard, and fourth place in the open
amateur championships. Students are now preparing for the upcoming
Manhattan Dancesport Championships , to be held April 16-19, 1998.
