Mass Spectroscopy Facility:

The Princeton Mass Spectroscopy Facility consists of an array of spectrometers, managed by Dr. John Eng, and is focused on assisting the diverse research efforts of the Chemistry Department. Chemistry undergraduate students writing junior papers and performing senior thesis research, along with incoming graduate students and postdoctoral researchers are encouraged to learn the operation of specific instruments and run their own samples during the course of  their research.  The resources of the MS facility have also, traditionally been made available to researchers from other Departments within the University.   Professional help for running  samples is always available and is usually the preferred method for the occasional user or when individual training is required for specialized applications. Dr. Eng will run all samples for researchers from outside the department.
