What is a Hybrid Vehicle?
“Hybrid Vehicle” is in fact a fairly broad term. It refers to
any vehicle that utilizes two or more different power sources. Thus
a mo-ped and a nuclear-electric submarine are both examples of
hybrid vehicles. However, the hybrid vehicle most likely to become
common in the future for personal transport is the hybrid car. Hybrid
cars essentially combine elements of electric cars with traditional
internal combustion engines. In a sense the idea behind them is
to capture the best of both designs. Like electric cars, they
have improved efficiency over conventional vehicles and reduce
automotive emissions. Like conventional combustion engine
