The transportation of spent nuclear fuel and high-level
nuclear wastes is a huge issue when it comes to nuclear waste decomissioning.
For any waste to be stored it must first be taken from its source and
transported to a storage site, which can sometimes be across the nation.
This section seeks to take a look at several aspects of transporting nuclear
wastes. It will look at the regulations behind the transporting the wastes,
the quality of the containers used to transport the wastes, and finally,
the effect of Yucca Mountain on waste transport. The sub-sections in this
