B.A. Toronto ’70, D.Phil. Oxford ’76.

Professor Champlin works on Roman social and literary history of the late Republic and early Empire, and on Roman law. His books include Fronto and Antonine Rome; Final Judgments: Duty and Emotion in Roman Wills; and Nero. He is currently interested in the uses of myth in Roman public and private life.
