Background

Michael A. Flower (A.B. Berkeley '78, M.A. Oxford '81, Ph.D. Brown '86) has taught and published primarily in the areas of Greek historiography, Greek religion, and Greek history. In addition to numerous articles, he is the author of Theopompus of Chios. History and Rhetoric in the Fourth Century B.C. (Oxford, 1994), of Herodotus, Histories, Book IX (Cambridge 2002, with John Marincola), and of The Seer in Ancient Greece (California, fall 2007). His current project is a book on Xenophon's Anabasis in the series Oxford Approaches to Classical Literature.
