SPECIAL FACILITIES

Firestone Library has extensive holdings in classical literature, history, and philosophy. On the third floor of the library are three study rooms containing the texts and commentaries for all major Greek and Latin authors, lexica, classical encyclopedias, and other research tools. Adjoining these rooms are the stack areas dedicated to Classics books and periodicals. Firestone Library's rare book collection, housed on the first floor, contains nearly complete sets of printed editions of Vergil and Horace, dating from the fifteenth to the 21st centuries.

The University Art Museum has a fine collection of art from the ancient Mediterranean. Its Marquand Library contains a large collection of books on ancient art and architecture.

The University provides completely up-to-date computer resources with full access with full access to the many online faciliteis available to students of Classics. Juniors are given training and instruction in the use of these resources.
