Final Public Oral Checklist - (updated August
2009)

First
- Set Defense Date (Check with DGS and your advisor, make sure the Graduate
Administrator has the date to add to the Department calendar)
25 business days prior to defense date (submit to Graduate
Administrator)
- Two (2) complete unbound copies of dissertation
- Submit to each of your committee members a complete copy of dissertation
- Submit 2 title pages
- Submit 2 Copies of Abstract
15 business days prior to defense date
- Confirm that your readers have submitted their reports and report
forms
- End of Enrollment Form (if not already previously submitted)
10 business days prior to defense date (submit on line)
- Complete and submit Advanced Degree Application (please confirm with
the Graduate Administrator when you have completed) Application can be found here
7 business days
prior to defense date (submit to Graduate Administrator)
- 2 bound copies of dissertation
Day after Defense
- 2 bound copies of dissertation (hand deliver to Mudd Library)
- 1 electronic copy of dissertation in Adobe PDF format on a CD, with
both the jewel case and CD properly labeled (hand deliver to
Mudd Library)
- You will need a check for made out to “Princeton University Library.” Fees are listed on Mudd Library's website (hand deliver to
Mudd Library)
- Doctoral Dissertation Agreement form (this form comes from the publication
"Publishing your Dissertation") (hand deliver to Mudd
Library)
- Final Public Oral Examination Report signed by the DGS (hand
deliver to Mudd Library, Mudd Library will sign and you will deliver
the signed original to the Graduate School)
- Survey of Earned Doctorates (orginal and a copy to be submitted
to the Graduate School)
- Exit Questionnaire (submit to Graduate School)
- Copy of your Title Page and Abstract for Mudd Library
