Welcome to my Homepage!

My research background and interests concern the design and fabrication of novel materials and systems that exploit nanoscale surface effects.  Such efforts are strongly influenced by the following practices and principles:

     Applied Mechanics
     Biomimetics

Piezoelasticity
     Robotics
     Microfabrication

Presently, I am working with Mikko Haataja (Princeton, MAE) and Dave Srolovitz (Yeshiva, Physics) to develop models that explain the spontaneous bending and helicity of piezoelectric nanoribbons.

In 2007, I received my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at UC Berkeley.  There, I worked in the Biomimetics Millisystems Lab with Ron Fearing and others to develop a novel, microstructured, shear-activated adhesive inspired by the gecko.
