The Japanese articles are free, but you have to pay for the English. I paid for the service for six months a few years ago, but cancelled it because the English articles were simply not as thorough nor as frequently updated as the Japanese. Perhaps things have changed since then, though.

- Shôsôin 正倉院: official site for this Todaiji repository, which has acted as a giant time capsule to preserve items from the Nara period.
- 平安京図: this PDF file is nice because you can zoom in on places without the characters becoming too blurry.
- 平安京大内裏図: click on the names of buildings to see a close-up. Unfortunately, qality of images is inconsistent.
- 安政造営内裏図: a beautiful old map of Kyoto that is zoomable, but somewhat difficult to manipulate.
