On December 1st, 2005, The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) and the benefactors of the Axel Axelson Johnson Endowment honored Rob Socolow for his outstanding research in global carbon management and the hydrogen economy by inviting him to give the 2005 Axel Axelson Johnson Commemorative Lecture. IVA also presented him with a commemorative silver plaque, awarded to him by the Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden.
