Wed 3/26: Doctors Without Borders in North Korea - Marine Buissonniere, McCosh 10 4:30pm
Come listen to Marine Buissonniere, former Secretary General of French Doctors Without Borders Secretary General, share her personal experiences as a member of MSF dealing with the refugee crisis in North Korea, and her thoughts on why international assistance to this region may be more difficult than anywhere else in the world.

Wed 4/2: Africa Paradis by Sylvestre Amoussou, Frist West TV Lounge
Film showing followed by snacks and discussion. Synopsis: Europe, among them France, has become underdeveloped due to acute economic and political crisis while Africa has gone through very thriving development. As Olivier and Pauline, a French engineer and a French teacher, can no more decently live in their country, they decide to immigrate into the United States of Africa.Unfortunately they don't manage to get an entry visa and therefore call on a smuggler. From that time on their life turns upside down and they face the grim reality of immigration: they experience the position of illegal immigrants, the difficulty to find a decent job and on top of that the political use of immigration.

This conference will be devoted to questions of development and international exchange in a globalized context, a question which is of particular significance in the context of Africa. This broad and urgent theme is truly interdisciplinary, as it cannot be understood without integrating the different cultural, economic, and political spheres of Africa.

Asian Night Market showcases the rich cultures of Asian nations through fun and interactive activities that expose attendees to Asian specialty foods, arts and crafts, and music. This year, it involves the collaboration of nine different ethnic organizations representing a variety of Asian cultures, and features many Princeton Asian performance groups, as well as Blip Blip Bleep, an Asian-American band.

Sat 4/19: Afro-Brazilian Culture Show, Carl A. Fields Center
Featuring dance performances by Princeton Capoeira and guest performers, and workshops introducing participants to Capoeira and Afro-Brazilian dance forms (Maculele, Puxada de Rede, and Samba), as well as a lecture on the history of Capoeira by Mestre Jelon, a renowned Capoeira master, musician, and history. The event will culminate with the performance by OGANS, an NY-based samba band, at Terrace F. Club.

There will be English subtitles throughout! Be prepared for a tour-de-force through this veritable "New Wave" of European cinema.
