Ana Sollitto '11

Ana was born and raised in sunny South Florida where she started dancing around the age of 3. Perhaps all of those years spent in the dance studio will explain why she’s so pale, despite the constant sunshine. She trained in ballet, jazz, modern, and the occasional tap class under the guidance of Angela Mauti, Katy Rood-Audette, Autumn Chokshi, Lisa Shepherd, Giselle Guillen, and Rachael Ma at Dance Dimensions.  Ana performed as a member of the Fort Lauderdale Children’s Ballet Theater for thirteen years, dancing in such ballets as Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Coppelia.  Her favorite roles include the Fairy of Vivacity and the Hungarian soloist.  Before coming to college, Ana branched out into salsa and continued her Latin dance introduction by taking a semester of ballroom classes at Princeton.

Ana has always had a love for the stage and naturally found her way into theater.  She performed in several high school musicals and plays, including Perfect Children an original musical that debuted at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh.  During her senior year, she became one of the dance captains for the production of Funny Girl, where she learned that dancing on staircases in 3-inch heels is rather frightening (Note: this experience has not deterred her from wearing extremely high heels or falling up/down staircases).  After three semesters of not dancing for hundreds of hours a week, Ana could no longer stand the loss of dance in her life.  She is beyond ecstatic to be dancing with the absolutely amazing girls in eXpressions.  Ana is looking forward to two more wonderfully dance and eXp filled years.
