Leah Hayensworth '11
Leah briefly took modern dance classes a child, but stopped in order to pursue her interest in figure skating. When she started attending her performing arts-based middle school, Leah realized she was actually a much better dancer than figure skater. After dancing for fun in her middle school's dance company for three years, Leah began formal dance training in ballet, modern, and jazz during the second half of 8th grade at Sharron Miller's Academy for the Performing Arts in Montclair, New Jersey. She was then asked to join the dance school's company at the end of 8th grade and was a member until her senior year of high school. Leah danced in the summer intensive at The Ailey School in Manhattan for two summers and in the José Limón summer intensive in Saratoga Springs, New York.
