Princeton GCCS Log August 1, 2006 0100 GMT GCT file: asap_0806_v3 Gliders under control: we07, we09, we10, we12 Coordination plan: glider we12 has been reassigned from the middle to the northern track and will seek to remain on the opposite side from we10 as they travel counter-clockwise around the loop. Gliders we07 and we09 have switched to clockwise rotation around the southern and middle loops respectively. Coordination summary: glider we12 has just finished the northern edge of the middle track and will retrace its path back towards shore as it joins we10 on the northern track in place of we08 (which is under supervisory/non-coordinated control). Gliders we07 and we09 have been losing ground to the strong northward flow on the offshore leg of their tracks which motivated the switch in their direction of travel around the track from counter-clockwise to clockwise. Glider OA Flow summary: the strong northern flow along the offshore edge of the track continues to increase in intensity. The strong onshore flow near Ano Nuevo is an artifact of a spurious data point from SIO12. Outlook: we05 expected to join the coordinated fleet tomorrow.
