Princeton GCCS Log August 14, 2006 1400 GMT GCT file: asap_0806_v11 Gliders under control: we05, we07, we08, we09, we10 Coordination plan: (unchanged) gliders we05 and we08 are assigned to travel counter-clockwise on opposite sides around the southern track. Gliders we07 and we09 will travel clockwise around the middle/offshore (we07) and middle/inshore (we09) tracks. In addition, gliders we09 and we07 will seek to become synchronized on their respective tracks. Glider we10 will travel clockwise on the northern track. Coordination summary: The separation between gliders we05 and we08 is poor, but improving. The synchronization between gliders we07 and we09 is fair and should improve. Glider we10 is rounding the inshore, northern edge of the northern track. Glider OA Flow summary: mild circulating and equatorward flow throughout the sampling domain. Glider OA performance: good coverage of both area and boundary with an interesting oscillation with frequency of about one day.
