Donnell J. Butler is a sociology doctoral student at Princeton University and joint appointed staff member. Donnell's dissertation research investigates how racial group membership and pre-college experiences with racial diversity influence college choice and social integration in college.

Donnell is the project director for the Campus Life in America Student Survey. Most recently, Donnell also served concurrently as the data analyst for the Princeton University Program in Teacher Preparation, the evaluation specialist for the Princeton University Preparatory Program, and the coordinator of the Opening Doors and Paving the Way Forum. Donnell has a diverse range of project management, survey research, and data analysis skills from positions ranging from senior business advisory services professional at Ernst & Young to senior policy research analyst at APPRISE. He has presented papers at various academic and professional association meetings on a wide range of topics including, college race relations, classroom diversity, intersectional analysis of college enrollment patterns, energy poverty, and energy assistance programs.
