Government Document Resources
in the Princeton University Library
The Depository Collections

Information found in government documents is essential to many classroom and research projects at Princeton University, and can also be helpful to members of the general public under the Depository Library Programs. While earlier materials may be available, those from the years of the Depostiory Programs are especially strong. Government Document Depositories at Princeton cover the following dates::

  1. * United States - 1884 to present

    * United Nations - 1945-to present

    * New Jersey - 1950 to present

    * European Union - 1964 to present.

Depostiory Documents are available to the University Community and also to members of the general public. Documents from the four depository collections are centered in the Social Science Reference Center on A floor of Firestone Library. Paper, fiche and electronic resources can be identified here.  In addition, subject specialists are available here to help identify and locate documents from these and other government bodies.
