Preface

This manual is a user guide to version 5.5 of the ANSYS to FEMVIEW Interface Program.

This release is compatible with ANSYS versions 5.0 and above and represents a significant increase in functionality over previous interface versions.

The following features are now incorporated in this release:

• New user interface.
• Model title control.
• Improved control of loadcase and increment names.
• Improved message logging.
• Batch Mode and Startup File Facility.
• Error recovery.
• Ability to read ANSYS result files from a variety of hardware platforms.
• Ability to read byte-swapped result files.
• Improved detection and handling of ANSYS invalid DOF's
• Caching of the result file to give greatly reduced execution times on Intel platforms.
