Extending the size of the Work Area

The largest work area used in the interface is an array BASE in unlabelled common. On most machines its default size is set to 300,000 and for large jobs it may be necessary to extend it.

The sizes are set with parameter statements. To increase BASE from the standard 300000 to 1000000, the main program (usually called Postpafec with an extension indicating a fortran file eg POSTPAFEC77.FTN or POSTPAFEC77.FOR) must be edited as follows :

PARAMETER ( PSIZ = 300000 ) to be PARAMETER ( PSIZ = 1000000 )

In a similar way the maximum number of nodes (PNOD),materials (PMAT) and transformations (PTRF) can be enlarged.
