Preface

This manual is a user guide to version 6.110 of the FEMGEN to MSC/NASTRAN Interface Program. The software described in this manual is compatible with FEMGV versions 4 and above and NASTRAN version 68. The interface program is incorporated within FEMGEN and when the NASTRAN environment is selected some of the FEMGEN menus will be altered in order to allow access to NASTRAN data types.

This new release of FEMGV with the NASTRAN interface incorporates the following new features:

• Selection of NASTRAN element types by name on the command line and in the FEMGEN menus.
• Definition of constraints by name (e.g. X, RX etc.).
• Definition of complex loading conditions.
• Definition of NASTRAN CBEAM and PBEAM cards.
• Resource file scanned when input file created, with new resources added as better alternative to environment variables.
