Materials

This data comes from the commands PROPERTY MATERIAL MAT and GENERAL. There are 10 standard materials programmed into PAFEC so user defined materials will begin at material number 11. The contents for this module for each material come under the headings

MATERIAL NU RO ALPHA MU.

The data is copied over directly from the command PROPERTY MATERIAL GENERAL and for the standard command PROPERTY MATERIAL MAT the data is written in the appropriate columns. If the user has used orthotropic elements, ie with an element type ending in '5', the file should be modified to include an ORTHOTROPIC.MATERIALS module.

The 10 standard PAFEC materials may be used by defining dummy materials with names PA1 to PA10. These will be mapped to PAFEC materials 1 to 10, and will not appear in the MATERIALS module.

For solids the material number references the property number in the ELEMENTS module, for shells and 2D elements it refers to the MATERIAL column in the PLATES.AND.SHELLS module, and for beams it refers to the MATERIAL column in the BEAMS module.
