Language Learning Aids for Turkish
on and off the Web: a Beginning...
This is a demonstration of several learning aids to facilitate the learning Turkish. Some have been in place for several years;
others are currently still in development.
OFF THE WEB
VocabBuilder, a HyperCard-based memorizing aid, containing 800 high frequency Turkish vocabulary items for beginning learners. VocabBuilder, can be used for any language level
and for any language using a left-to-right writing system.
SoundDrill, an interactive drill to enhance listening comprehension, geared to learners at the Novice through Intermediate level. This 'matching' drill stack can be adapted
to any language.
DictaDrill, a dictation tool for beginners, dictating brief, high-frequency items, including comprehension check facility. DictaDrill, can be adapted to any language using a left-to-right writing system.

CATT, the Computer Assisted Turkish Tutor
, an interactive learning aid for Turkish being developed in conjunction with
the Turkish Natural Language Processing project at Bilkent University, Ankara.
Türkçe Sözlük, a monolingual on-line dictionary in development at Bilkent University, Ankara.
