HICHAM MHAMMEDI ALAOUI 08 (away Spring 06)
Hicham Mhammedi Alaoui is a sophomore hailing from Casablanca, Morocco. He attended the Casablanca American School and basked in warm sunny weather from pre-first all through twelfth grade before arriving in cold New Jersey. He hopes to concentrate in the Woodrow Wilson School. He has been a member of L’Atelier since January 2005 and he’s the drummer for the Friendship band. Last spring, Hicham performed in the Advanced Atelier’s “Le Tartuffe” (Cléante) and also worked on a scene by Koltès’ “Tabataba”. He participated in L’Atelier in Paris Program this January. Hicham is currently studying at Sciences-Po Paris for a year, starting this spring and will miss his co-stars and the unique ambiance of L’Atelier.
GRANT BERMANN 09
Grant has been a member of the Atelier since September, 2004 when he started participating in L’Atelier as a pre-frosh and Princeton High School senior. In 2004-2005, he worked on the role of Hyppolite in Racine’s “Phèdre.” A freshman this year, he is delighted to continue L’Atelier and has worked on the role of Le Dealer in Koltes’ “Dans la solitude des champs de coton.” Grant has alsp participated in the third Atelier in Paris program of January 2006.
CAROLINE BLOCK 06 (Spring 06)
Caroline Block, Princeton University Class of 2006, is majoring in Anthropology. She has been a member of L’Atelier since her freshman year and has worked on the roles of Lisette in “Le jeu de l’amour et du hasard” by Marivaux (May 2003) as well as Madame Pernelle in Molière’s “Le Tartuffe” in both L’Atelier: Cours Public 3 (December 2003) and L’Atelier’s “Le Tartuffe” of April 2005. Caroline also performed in “Travaux d’Acteurs” of February 2005 (“La menagerie de verre” by Williams) and participated in L’Atelier in Paris Program in 2005. She is a member of the Varsity Fencing Team.
CAMILLE BRES GS
Camille Bres is a fourth-year graduate student in Electrical Engineering. She was born in Montpellier, France and studied at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where she graduated in June 2002. She has been a member of L’Atelier since September 2002, working on the roles of Marthe in Claudel’s “L’échange” (Fragments April 2003), Lucienne in Feydeau’s “Le Dindon” (AY 2003-2004), Yvonne in “Feu la mère de Madame” by Feydeau (Travaux d’Acteurs, February 2005), and Andromaque in “Andromaque” by Racine (October 2005).
DIANA BUDUR GS
Diana Budur is a second-year Graduate Student in the Anthropology Department. She was born in Braila, a city on the Danube River, close to the Delta and lived in Focsani in Eastern Romania. She studied at the Internation Baccalaureate High School in Chicago, IL, and is Stanford University Class of 2004, where she majored in Human Biology. This is Diana’s second year in L’Atelier’s Program, after having seduced audiences in Molière’s “Le Tartuffe” (April 2005) as Elmire and Racine’s “Andromaque” (October 2005) as Cléone. This January, Diana also participated in the third Atelier in Paris Program. She has been delighted to join the troupe, continuing, as a graduate student, the long Atelier tradition of having graduate students participate in the program.
MICHAEL CUTRIGHT 08
Michael Lawrence Cutright, class of 2008, has the supreme pleasure of being from the only place in the contiguous United States with worse weather than New Jersey--Walled Lake, MI. There, he attended the Cranbrook Kingswood School where his love and knowledge of all things French grew and was nurtured by his wonderful teacher Dr. Béatrix Fuzet. At Princeton, Mike sings with the Nassoons, plans to concentrate in the Department of French and Italian, and tries to avoid speaking English whenever possible. A member of L’Atelier since September 2004, Mike has worked on the role of Rédillon in “Le Dindon” during his first year in the program (Fragments III May 2005) and Phoenix in “Andromaque” (October 2005). Michael has also participated in L’Atelier in Paris Program this year.
NATASHA GOPAUL 05 (Spring 06)
Natasha Gopaul, Princeton University Class of 2005, is delighted to come back to L’Atelier this spring while working for the Liechtenstein Institute of Self-Determination as Special Assistant to the Director. Natasha was a full member of L’Atelier in 2002-2003 where she worked on “Le jeu de l’amour et du hasard” by Marivaux. She will appear in the spring advanced play by L’Atelier.
CLAIRE HOPPENOT 07
Claire Hoppenot is a third-year student majoring in Comparative Literature. She was born in Paris, France and has lived in the USA since 1992. She graduated from Princeton Day School in 2003. Claire has been a member of L’Atelier since September 2005 and has worked on the roles of Agnes in Molière’s “Lécole des femmes,” and Céphise in Racine’s “Andromaque.” Claire has also participated in the third Atelier in Paris program of January 2006.
MINA MOROVA 07
Mina Morova is Princeton University Class of 2007 majoring in the Department of Comparative Literature. She is from Istanbul, Turkey, where she attended the Lycée Français Pierre Loti. Mina has been a member of L’Atelier since the fall semester of her freshman year. She worked on the roles of Dorine (Fall 2003), Armandine (“Le Dindon” Spring 2004), Lisette in Marivaux’s “Le jeu de l’amour et du hasard” (Spring 2004), La Mère in “Les vacances” by Grumberg (Travaux d’Acteurs – February 2005), Dorine in Molière’s “Le Tartuffe” (Spring 2005), and Hermione in “Andromaque” (October 2005). Mina Morova has participed in L’Atelier in Paris Program in January 2005. Mina is also a member of the Princeton Varsity Fencing Team at Princeton.
LAURENT PUEYO GS
Laurent Pueyo is a third year graduate student in Aerospace and mechanical engineering. Before coming to Princeton for his graduate studies, Laurent graduated from the École Normale Supérieure Cachan in 2000 and passed his aggregation in 2001. Laurent arrived at Princeton in September 2002 as a visiting student. That’s when he joined L’Atelier. At L’Atelier Laurent has worked on the roles of Moulineaux in “Tailleur pour Dames” by Feydeau (Fragments / April 2003), Pélleas in “Pelléas et Mélisande” by Maeterlinck (L’Atelier: Cours Public 3), Pontagnac in L’Atelier’s first full-length production: “Le Dindon” of April 2004, and Phyrrus in Racine’s “Andromaque.” Laurent Pueyo has also participated in the original L’Atelier in Paris Program in January 2004. His director is very pleased to see him make his comeback on stage this year.
DAVID ROSENTHAL 07 *
David Rosenthal is Princeton University Class of 2007 majoring in French and Italian. David has been a member of L’Atelier since the fall semester of his freshman year. Over the past few years, he worked on the roles of Orgon in Moliere’s “Le Tartuffe” (December 2003), Soldignac in L’Atelier’s “Le Dindon (April 2004), Le père in Grumberg’s “Les Vacances” (Travaux d’Acteurs – February 2005), and Damis in L’Atelier’s “Le Tartuffe” of April 2005. At Princeton, David is a member of Varsity Sprint Football and dances for BodyHype. David also participated in the memorable Atelier in Paris of January 2005. * David will not be performing this year, but hopes to soon return on the stage of L’Atelier during his senior year.
WILLIAM ROUNDS 09 (Spring 06)
William Rounds a French-American student from the class of 2009, comes from Paris where he lived all his life. William easily found his way to L’Atelier which he first heard about when L’Atelier’s advanced students were traveling to Paris in January 2005. At Princeton, William hopes to become a molecular biology major and he is currently involved in the Princeton Laptop Orchestra. He hopes to have a long career at L’Atelier where he is sure to land his panache to future Atelier productions and will appear in L’Atelier’s advanced production of April 2006.
HOLGER STAUDE 09 (Spring 06)
Holger Staude, from the class of 2009, hails from Frankfurt, Germany, where he studied at the European School of Frankfurt in the French-German Section. After having completed 10 th Grade, he attended he United World College of the Atlantic in the UK. Holger plans to major in Economics. He has joined the advanced atelier this spring and will perform in “Un fil à la patte” set for April 27-29, 2006.
CHRISTIAN THÉRIAULT 07
Christian Theriault is Princeton University Class of 2007, majoring in Molecular Biology. A member of L’Atelier since the fall semester of his freshman year, Christian has worked on the roles of Monsieur Jourdain in Moliere’s “Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme” (December 2003), Lélio in Marivaux’s “La surprise de l’amour” (May 2004) and Le fils in Grumberg’s “Les Vacances.” (Travaux d’Acteurs – February 2005). Christian has designed lights for, and produced the DVDs of, L’Atelier’s “Le Tartuffe” (April 2005) and L’Atelier’s “Andromaque” (October 2005). He has also participated in L’Atelier in Paris Program of 2005, and will be appearing in the role of De Fontanet in L’Atelier’s “Un fil à la patte” set for April 27-29, 2006.
ANTOINE TOUSSAINT GS
Antoine Toussaint is a third-year graduate student in Financial Engineering. He is from the medieval city of Troyes, France and he graduated from the École Polytechnique in 2003. This is Antoine’s third year in L’Atelier’s Program where he captivated audiences with his performances of characters from Feydeau’s theater: Pontagnac and Rédillon in “Le Dindon,” as well as Lucien in “Feu la mère de Madame”. In October 2005, Antoine performed the title role of Oreste in L’Atelier’s “Andromaque,” and will soon appear as Bois d’Enghien in L’Atelier’s “Un fil à la patte” by Georges Feydeau. Antoine has participated in the memorable L’Atelier in Paris Program of January 2005.
