Dinner will be provided

In the spring of 2000, the GAC sponsored a pair of seminars entitled

WHAT WORK IS; OR, EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT ASSISTANT PROFESSORSHIP BUT WERE AFRAID TO ASK.

We've invited two recent and much-beloved graduate alumni who are currently working as Assistant Professors, Jay Dickson (Phd '96) and Lisa Sternlieb (PhD '97), to give talks, lead discussions, and answer questions on everything and anything having to do with the transition from grad school to assistant professorship.

Come find out how to make the transition from precepting to giving several lectures a week ... what it's like to sit on a job-search committee ... what Princetonian stereotypes you may encounter ... what you can do now to make things easier later ... and much more!

Whether you're starting a job in the fall or wondering how to make your next few years at Princeton pay off later, please come and join us for what promise to be two informative and enjoyable discussions. Jay will be speaking on Monday, February 28, and Lisa will be here on Thursday, March 30.  Both events will be held at 4:30pm, with receptions to follow. Hope to see you there!
