"We have a variety of course openings from term to term for adjunct faculty. We also have a program for Predoctoral fellows
(read ABDs), a half-load (about $16,000 a year) for two courses a semester. It runs for one year, with an understanding that a second year will follow if both sides are satisfied with each other (so far no one has chosen to leave and we haven't ask anyone to do so). I have guaranteed the six to eight members of this program at least one course in their areas of specialization a year over the three years we have been running it. Most have had more than that."

At this time, I have only a handful of available sections for the Spring semester (because it's late in the scheduling process, believe it or not), but there are ALWAYS last minute openings in late December and early January. I'll also soon begin scheduling the summer 2000 semester and will start on the Fall 2000 schedule in January."
