Definition

learning a relationship between the organism's behavior and the consequences of that behavior

i.e.

operant conditioning = behavior -> reward

classical conditioning = stimulus -> stimulus

operant behavior = the behavior whose consequences are being learned about

reinforcer = the reward consequences of that behavior

timing is important - the closer together the operant behavior and the reinforcer, the stronger the conditioning
