Statement from Princeton Workers' Rights Organizing Committee - the WROC

Over the last several years, the working conditions of Princeton¹s lowest-paid employees at Princeton University has severely deteriorated. At the same time the endowment, tuition, room and board, as well as salaries of administrators, and faculty members have skyrocketed. This widening of the gap between the best- and worst-paid is part of a nationwide trend during one of the greatest economic expansions in our country¹s history.

As a moral light for this nation and others, Princeton needs to have the moral courage to treat its workers with respect.

A group of students, employees, faculty and community members has recently come together to catalyze a change in the University¹s policies.

The Campus Greens have affiliated with WROC and play a major role in the campaign to gain workers respect. For more information, go to the WROC Homepage (http://www.princeton.edu/~speac)
