Statement from Princeton
Workers' Rights Organizing Committee - the WROC
Over the last several years, the working
conditions of Princeton¹s lowest-paid employees at Princeton University
has severely deteriorated. At the same time the endowment, tuition, room
and board, as well as salaries of administrators, and faculty members have
skyrocketed. This widening of the gap between the best- and worst-paid
is part of a nationwide trend during one of the greatest economic expansions
in our country¹s history.
As a moral light for this nation and others,
Princeton needs to have the moral courage to treat its workers with respect.
A group of students, employees, faculty
and community members has recently come together to catalyze a change in
the University¹s policies.
The Campus Greens have affiliated with
WROC and play a major role in the campaign to gain workers respect. For
