To <Pacifica National Board Members>:

As a WBAI listener and a staunch supporter of independent media and free speech, I am extremely upset by Pacifica's recent actions at WBAI: firing long-term staff members Bernard White, Sharan Harper, and Mimi Rosenberg by letter and threatening them (and others) with arrest should they return to their long-time workplace, secretly changing the locks at the station in the middle of the night, and forbidding discussions of the WBAI crisis on the air.  These recent actions violate all of the principles of independent media that Pacifica is supposed to exemplify.

I urge you to:

•  Vote "NO" on the by-law changes proposed by John Murdock at your March board meeting
•  Oppose plans to sell Pacifica stations' licenses
•  End censorship at Pacifica stations
•  Reinstate WBAI staff and programming and respect WBAI's autonomy
•  Restore a fair and democratic process at WBAI and at Pacifica
