Holiday Shopping Shuttle to Route 1 Shopping Malls·Saturday December 3 and 10, 2005

    A shuttle between campus and shopping centers along Route 1 will be available for the university community on Saturday December 3 and 10 from 1:00pm - 6:00pm. Please access the the schedule for pick-up and drop-off sites. This pilot shuttle program was made possible with the support of University Services.

A Night at Cafe Vivian with Jorge Cham·November 17, 2005

    Jorge Cham, author of the online graduate student comic strip "Piled Higher and Deeper" will be visiting Princeton as part of his book tour. He will be speaking at Cafe Vivian in Frist Campus Center on Thursday, November 17, 2005 at 8pm. This event will also be an opportunity to raise funds for Hurricane Katrina relief. Jorge Cham has agreed to donate $5 of every book sold at Princeton to a relief fund. In addition, proceeds from snack sales will also be donated. All donations will be going to Habitat for Humanity's Operation Home Delivery Initiative. The event was organized by the Graduate Student Government, and co-sponsored by Dining Services, the Graduate College Coffeehouse, Frist Campus Center, the Graduate School Office of Student Life, the Office of the Vice President for Campus Life, and the Association of Princeton Graduate Alumni.

GSG Executive Committee Mid-term Report·October 12, 2005

    In order to help keep you informed about what projects your elected GSG Executive Committee has been working on since the beginning of our term in April 2005, GSG Exec decided to release a mid-term report at our October GSG Assembly meeting. This report lists the various projects that Exec has worked on. It also details our two major aims for our term: Community Building/Outreach and GSG Fee Reform. DCE town meeting·October 3 and 27, 2005

    There will be two town meetings to discuss the new enrollment status, Dissertation Completion Enrollment (DCE) -- which will replace DCC status starting Fall 2006. Both meetings -- on Monday, October 3 and Thursday October 27 -- will start at 4:30pm in McCormick Hall 101; refreshments will be provided. The purpose of these meetings is to clarify issues that have been raised about the DCE status and to answer any questions graduate students might have about it. Representatives from the Graduate School Office and the Graduate Student Government Executive Committee will be present. These town meetings were jointly organized by the GSG and the Graduate School.

Wine and Cheese Party ·September 29, 2005

    The GSG's first event for the academic year will be a Wine and Cheese Party held on Thursday September 29, 2005 from 8-10pm at the Carl A. Fields Center in Liberty Hall. All graduate students and their guests over 21 are welcome. This event is sponsored by the Graduate Student Government, Graduate School, Vice-President for Campus Life, and APGA.

Orientation Barbeque ·September 10, 2005

    The GSG is co-sponsoring the Orientation Barbeque with the Graduate School. The BBQ will take place on Saturday September 10, 2005 at 5:30pm at the Old Graduate College, near the golf course. All graduate students are welcome.

Post-enrollment changes ·August 10, 2005

    Important changes to post-enrollment are proposed for the 2006-2007 academic year. These changes would allow students to retain full student status up to two years beyond their program length. Please ask your GSG Assembly representative for more information, as Assembly has been appraised of this plan at our August 10th meeting. Frolic at Frist·June 15, 2005

    The GSG hosts our last social event of the 2004-2005 school year, Frolic at Frist, on Wednesday June 15 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm on the Frist South Lawn (rain location: Frist 1st floor). This event is an outdoor BBQ, incluiding hamburgers, veggie burgers and hot dogs. Also, there will be a free concert organized by Frist Campus Center on the Frist South Lawn immediately preceding the Frolic at Frist from 4:30-5:30pm. This event is sponsored by the Graduate Student Government, Frist Campus Center, the Graduate School, Office of the Dean of Religious Life, and the Office of the VP for Campus Life.

GSG Charity Furniture Drive·May 31 and June 1, 2005

    Our annual Charity Furniture Drive raised over $1400 this year to be donated to local charities (Tender Hearts, Upper East Trenton Outreach Center, Rescue Mission of Trenton, Home Front). This event was organized by GSG Social Chair Megan Sullivan with help from Community and State Affairs.

Parliamentary and Press Secretary Elections·May 11, 2005

    On May 11, 2005, the Assembly held elections to fill the final two vacancies on the Executive Committee, Parliamentary Secretary and Press Secretary. Here is the full Executive Committee (newly elected members marked by asterisks):

Valentine's Day Celebration·February 18 2005

    The GSG is throwing its annual Valentine's Day Celebration on Friday, February 18, 2005 at the Carl A. Fields Center in Liberty Hall. The celebration will start with a reception (featuring wine, cheese, and chocolate) at 10pm. A dance party will follow from 11.30pm until 2am. All graduate students and their guests over 21 are welcome. This event is sponsored by the Graduate Student Government, the Graduate School, the Office of the Vice President for Campus Life, and the Association of Princeton Graduate Alumni.

GSG Elections·January 2005

    The GSG is holding general elections from February 28th to March 4th for its seven officer positions: Chair, Parliamentary Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Recording Secretary, Press Secretary, Treasurer, and Social Chair.
