Does anyone have anything in particular that you would like him to address? I'm sure he'll give us a brief "state of the GS" talk, but I want to make sure he addresses any specific issues we had for him. Please email me by Friday. 2) Mentoring opportunity At the Graduate and Professional fair, Dan Raburn and Karin Sigloch gathered some names of undergraduates who were interested in graduate studies. Are there any graduate students who would be willing to meet with them to give them some mentoring/advice on what graduate studies is all about in your field? This should just be a one-time thing. If you or your constituents are interested in participating in this, please email me by Friday The fields that students were interested in were: English Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Civil and Environmental Engineering Philosophy Economics Operations Research and Financial Engineering Religion Politics Physics East Asian Studies 3) Sustainability project Following up Shana Weber's visit to our meeting, would anyone like to help come up with a "10 things a graduate student can do" list for sustainable practices at Princeton? We already have some ideas from the Sustainability Committee, it just requires some fact-checking with Facilities, a nice design, and some ideas for publicity. If you or your constituents are interested, please email me. 4) Alumni mixers The APGA and our GSG Academic Affairs committee is planning on organizing alumni mixers this year. They are still in the beginning stages, but I think they are hoping to do the Humanities and Social Sciences divisions this year -- if you or your constituents are interested in helping out (it would be a great opportunity to network with alumni in your field), please email me. 5) Civic Engagement opportunity The Pace Center asked me to publicize the following opportunity: The Pace Council for Civic Values (PCCV), a new, selective student group affiliated with the Pace Center at Princeton University, is comprised of students who promote greater civic awareness and action within the University. We are seeking the help of new members in continuing our mission to improve the quality and quantity of student participation in civic engagement. This opportunity is open to all undergraduate and graduate students. For more information & application visit: http://pace.princeton.edu/forms/pccv/ . Application Deadline: December 4th.
