The Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell power plant in Santa Clara, CA. is
a 2 MW demonstration plant fueled by natural Gas. It has
350 kW modules with 4 stacks per
module. The cost was about $52 million. The claimed fuel-to-electrical efficiency is 55%, and waste heat is used for a steam cycle plant to generate additional electricity. Operating temperature of the fuel cells are 650 C.
