Experimental

The fuel cell provided has a stack of 20 electrode pairs. The hydrogen gas flow to the cell can be measured under different electrical load conditions, and the output voltage and current can also be measured. The
hydrogen pressure should be kept at
about one atmosphere. The oxidizer is either air, an enriched oxygen-nitrogen mixture, or "pure" oxygen, all of which are also at atmospheric pressure.

A "typical" Fuel-Cell Voltage vs. Current Density plot is shown opposite to give you some idea of the range of conditions to explore. Note that the various regions of the I v. V curve are controlled by different physical processes.
