Princeton is equidistant from New York and Philadelphia, and is easy to reach by public transportation or by car.

The University is easily accessible by train, which runs along the Northeast Corridor line from New York City to Trenton. Both Amtrak and New Jersey Transit trains stop at Princeton Junction, and the south end of campus is a five-minute connecting train ride away via New Jersey Transit's Princeton Shuttle (aka "The Dinky").

For train travel from New York City, board at Pennsylvania Station, transfer at Princeton Junction.

For train travel from Philadelphia, connecting SEPTA service is available from center city stops (30th Street, Suburban, and Market East Stations) on the R7 to Trenton, transfer to New Jersey Transit's Northeast Corridor line, transfer at Princeton Junction.

parking information

From 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. on weekdays and from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, visitors may park in most of the University's numbered parking lots, including Lots 21 and 7. Lot 10, on William Street, is recommended for events starting after 5 p.m. at McCosh 50 and James Stewart Theater, 185 Nassau. See the visitor parking map.

Unnumbered lots, such as Alexander and Scheide-Caldwell, are not available to the public. Additionally, Lots 8 and 9 are not open to the public at any hour.

Overnight parking in any lot for visitors is prohibited, unless visitors have special permits issued by the TigerCard Office during normal weekday business hours.

Metered parking on Princeton streets is monitored from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Meter parking near the event locations is available on William Street, Prospect Avenue, and Nassau Street.
