Jacob Viner came to Princeton in 1946, after serving for thirty years on the faculty at the University of Chicago.  He remained on the Princeton faculty until his retirement in 1960.  Professor Viner, who was the third Walker Professor of Economics and International Finance, is well known for his work on dumping and customs unions, as well as for his Studies in the Theory of International Trade.
